Collaborations

Allusion/Illusion is a movement theater work exploring one’s perception of reality through dance, theater, performance, live music, animation, and live video.
Produced by Cooperative Performance and created by Andrea Burkholder, Daniel Burkholder, Kelly Coffey, and Don Russell.

Harry's Duet is a collaborative work by Alvin Hill, Jr. (music + multimedia) and Daniel Burkholder (movement) inspired by early 20th century Ragtime composer and arranger Harry P. Guy. This work was commissioned by the Friends of the E. Azalia Hackley Collection (dplfriendsfoundation.org/hackley) and performed at the Detroit Public Library.

A gallery exhibition that employs video projection, theatrical sets, and live action to juxtapose enduring places within communities and the challenges of spaces always in flux. Performers inhabit part of the gallery, in which they build, alter, and demolish the installation, exploring their ever changing relationship to the space and thereby each other. Created and performed in collaboration with Andrea Burkholder.
Performances took place at Alfons Gallery for 3 hours at a time, 4 times a week, for eight weeks.
