Enlivened through the stories of my 97-year old grandmother, this work explores how memories contextualize and bring meaning to one’s life.
A multi-media performance presented simultaneously in two locations. The first location is focused on a visceral and meditative dance, while the second location consists of video interviews with my 97-year old grandmother layered with a live video feed and occasional live performers. During intermission audience members switch locations to see the work from the other perspective.

Exploring site-specific performance while on a 2-hour nature hike.
Scenic Route is an ongoing performance project that consisted of taking a small audience (15 people) on a 2 hour nature hike with site-specific dance and music performances along the way. Scenic Route: MKE took place along the Milwaukee River and was performed once a season for one year. The work has also been presented in three locations in the Metro DC area.

Exploring exhaustion in service of achieving an almost trance-like state, as if one was trying to exorcise something from one’s self.

How does one arrive and find one’s place, one’s home?
Acts of Arriving was a multi-site project reflecting on how one finds/creates a home which included dance, live music, audience participation elements, spoken word, and ended with a big ole’ dance party. The performances took place on the same day, with the performers walking from site to site, at four locations in the metro DC area: Mount Rainier, MD, Brookland neighborhood, Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Scenic Route: Potomac River took place just outside of Washington, DC along the Potomac River. The work has also been presented in three locations in the Metro DC area, as well as along the Milwaukee River.
