Knowledge of strategies and approaches to the inclusion of technology in contemporary performance is vital to artists working today. In this workshop, students learn the basics of Isadora, an easy to learn and flexible computer program designed for video projection, creating immersive environments, and interactivity. The workshop presents multiple ways in which to incorporate video projection into performative work, from basic video projection techniques, to immersive environments, content-driven material, and live video feed. While there is a focus on gaining technological knowledge, the focus of the workshop is in exploring how technology supports an artist’s creative vision.
