On-Site Performance
Creating embodied site-specific performances.
Combining specific somatic body-based practices with architectural, compositional, and thematic content and structures, artists will learn skills to create potent and impactful performances on and in specific sites. Questions to be examined include building meaning through inhabiting a space, how embodiment happens within specific environments, and what is the role of audience in non-traditional performance events. Artists will expand choreographic norms and challenge assumptions around their own art making process.
